Moscow: Pakistan’s Ambassador to Russia, Muhammad Khalid Jamali, has issued a stern warning to India, declaring that any act of aggression will be met with a full-force response, including the possible use of nuclear weapons.
Speaking to Russian media, Ambassador Jamali stated that Pakistan possesses intelligence indicating that India is planning a military operation. He stressed that Pakistan has already identified specific targets and is prepared to respond with all available means, including nuclear capabilities, if India initiates any hostile action.
He further added that the threat of an Indian attack appears imminent and serious. Jamali also warned that any attempt by India to divert or block river waters would be considered an act of war and would be dealt with accordingly.
This warning comes as tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors continue to rise. Meanwhile, Greece, which recently assumed the presidency of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), has acknowledged growing concerns over the escalating India-Pakistan tensions.
According to reports, Greek Ambassador Angelos Sekeris briefed UN journalists in New York on Thursday regarding the UNSC’s agenda during Greece’s month-long presidency. He stated that the Council is closely monitoring the situation and may consider convening a session to address the rising conflict.
Ambassador Sekeris noted that while no formal request for a UNSC meeting has been submitted by either side, the matter is being taken seriously. He emphasized that such a meeting could provide an opportunity for dialogue and de-escalation.
“We are preparing for the possibility,” he said. “It’s our first day as Council president, and we will see how the situation evolves.”
